Dog of the Week: Kioko

Dog of the Week: Kioko

Meet our newest Dog of the Week, Kioko!

Kioko is a 13-year-old Lab/Pit/Malinois who lives in Plano with her owner, Glynn. She loves grilled chicken (hold the sauce), swimming, watching Animal Cops – Houston, squirrel hunting, and anything to do with other dogs. Kioko is not a fan of loud people, cheap doggie treats, and the word bad.

Glenn tells us:

“After moving back from Colorado in 2004, I became really depressed and considered being medicated. I called my BFF Frank in Colorado and asked him what should I do. His immediate response was go straight to the local SPCA and adopt a dog. I am a animal lover but had never really considered owning a dog.

“As soon as I got inside the shelter, all the dogs were barking wildly…except for one big brown girl who was just eyeing me quietly, sending me that message that only means ‘I need a home soon or I’m not gonna make it.’  I took her in the meet and greet room and it was obvious that there was a forever bond made right there and then.

“In all these years, I have tried to be the very best thing that ever happened to Kioko – and in return she has given me her unwavering devotion, love, and attention…countless memories to treasure. She’s brilliantly smart and very obedient, even though she has no professional training. I have learned so much about our relationship from Cesar Milan. I can’t think of any more descriptive term than unconditional love – that’s us – 2 peas in a pod.

I’ve always made sure she has the best food and medical care I can afford. Now that Kioko is past the 13 year mark , people often comment that she looks 5 or 6. I can’t imagine my life without her.”

Congratulations to Kioko for being the Dog of the Week!
