"It's a dirty job, but someone has to do it." As any dog owner knows, one of the most undesirable "doodies" (sorry) of dog ownership is picking up after your beloved pooch. It's one thing to scoop the poop on a walk, where you are helping to keep your neighborhood and parks clean and safe for the community and their pets, but many owners tend to neglect the daily upkeep of their own yards. After a while, when the accumulation of "presents" has grown, the task seems especially unappealing. Not to mention smelly. For these situations, a service like DFW Scoopers can ease the burden of cleaning up your yard and creating a healthy and happy atmosphere for your family and pets.
DFW Scoopers was founded in October of 2006 and is owned by Randy Geades, a former sales manager and Realtor who felt the effects of a weakening market and decided to start his own business. Soon, Randy realized how much he enjoyed having his nights and weekends free to spend with his family, in addition to the fulfillment he found in his new career. Randy enjoys seeing all the dogs on his route and most are happy to see him as well, and they enjoy the extra play time. "Others bark at me the entire time, but that's the nature of working with man's best friend," says Randy.
Starting a business relationship with DFW Scoopers is easy. Contact them by phone, email, or via their website and set up a service day. Usually, cleaning services are billed monthly and you have the option of having one or two visits per week. Customers who want a one-time cleaning can schedule this service for $40 for the first 4 gallons of waste collected and $10 for each additional 4 gallons. This is also the same price for the initial cleaning, but it decreases dramatically for subsequent services. Weekly prices start as low as $11 for 1 visit per week (1 dog) and there is a 10% discount for senior citizens. Gift certificates are also available for purchase.
A few details: DFW Scoopers needs unrestricted access to your yard on the service day - either by providing them with a key location or a combination for a locked gate. DFW Scoopers will double-bag your pet's waste, haul it away, and disinfect their tools and shoes after each cleanup. They'll also do their best to inform you of any concerns regarding your pet's stool, which is a very nice gesture. Please note that if your dog shows signs of aggressiveness, they cannot enter your yard if your dog is outside. Also be aware that DFW Scoopers cannot thoroughly service your yard if you have high grass, lots of leaves or debris. They'll do the best they can in those circumstances, but they cannot pick up common trash.
During his time as DFW Scoopers owner, many customers asked Randy about a solution for brown spots in their yards. (Incidentally, pet waste can kill your grass if left for more than a week.) Randy did some research and found a non-toxic lawn dye to remedy their problem. It worked so well that he began a new company, Green Earth Lawn Painters, which compliments DFW Scoopers nicely. As we all know, the Texas heat can be hard on our lawns so using a dye to help keep our grass beautiful is a wonderful option. After all, who doesn't want a lush, green, poop-free yard?
