Editor's Note: Thursday, August 4, 2011. 1:45pm. I just received this heartbreaking email and I'm hoping someone can help this little lady. Contact information for the current caretaker is included in the article. Best wishes to this senior doggie who must miss her master very much.

Subject: Missy's owner died
Missy's owner died recently. She has been alone in the house for 3 months waiting for the estate to settle. There is no doggie door so my friend (Don - see below) has been going over 4 times a day to feed her and let her out. Problem is Don is a DISD school teacher and when they return to work soon he'll no longer be able to do this.
She weighs about 65 lbs. Is around 10 years old. Spayed and current on shots she was well cared for by her owner and vet. She is good with other animals that are smaller than her but she's fearful of bigger dogs. The owner had no family but Missy is sweet and loving with everyone she meets. We cannot be certain of how she'd be with kids but Don thinks she'd do fine. Also, Missy recently saw her vet and she's very healthy.
Missy lives in the Kessler Park area of Dallas. Please help us find her a loving home as she's already lost so much.
If interested or you have more questions please feel free to email either Don or I. You may also call me at 817.676.4866. We'd bring Missy to you!
Cathy

Subject: Fw: Photos of Missy, my neighbors dog
Dear Cathy, I hope you get this email. I have been taking care of Missy for 3 months now. Her owner died six weeks ago. I can't take her because of my dog, but I wish I could. I really don't want to give her up; she has been staying at her masters house until they get estate settled. I have been feeding and taking her out almost 4 times a day. She is very loveable and is very content. I have taught her to lift her left paw when I give her a treat and sometimes I think I am spoiling her because I often feed her by hand. She can be a big baby but so cute. She is a good dog and needs a loving owner. I will answer any question you may have about her. I hope and pray that you might be able to help me. I'm really gonna miss her, but I know that she will make someone very happy and be a best friend. Thank you so much!
