Q: Why do I need to register on DallasDogLife? You do not have to register to use most of the features on DallasDogLife, such as reading content, submitting a question for Ask the Vet, or accessing the blog. However, you do need to register for submitting an Upcoming Event for the calendar, submitting a DDL Community piece, or adding a Business Listing. Basically you need to register in order to submit something that will be posted to our site. Q: I just registered with DallasDogLife. Will I start receiving Newsletters? You will need to sign up for a Newsletter using the Subscribe box on the home page or the link on the Newsletters tab. This is different from being a registered user on the site. When you sign up for a Newsletter, you provide your name and email address and we will send you an email asking you to confirm that you really do want to receive a newsletter from DallasDogLife. If you do not confirm, we have to assume that someone else submitted your name and email address and that you really did not want to receive the newsletter. If you did not receive your confirmation email or accidentally deleted it, just resubmit your name and email address and we will resend a confirmation email to you.

If you have a child, help them develop a positive relationship with dogs by teaching them how to greet properly. Always ask the owner if you can pet their dog. Some dogs are frightened of children and may growl or snip if a child lunges at them. If the owner says yes, curl your hand into a fist with the back of your hand facing upward. Slowly extend your hand toward the dog and let him sniff your hand. Never try to pet a strange dog on the top of their head and don't force a child that is scared of dogs to greet a dog. |
