Soon, children will be walking to school at the same time as your dog's morning walk and they will want to pet your dog. If your dog is comfortable being petted by strangers, tell the child to let your dog smell the back of their hand first and then to pet your dog on his back or sides (not his head). If your dog does not like strangers, simply tell the child that your dog is scared so it's best if they don't touch him.
