New Animal Adoption Center to Open in Farmers Branch
From the City of Farmers Branch website:
Officially kicking off construction for the new Farmers Branch Animal Adoption Center, a groundbreaking was held in September at the new shelter site at 3727 Valley View Lane. The new state-of-the-art facility is being constructed just east of the Justice Center, near the corner of Valley View and Marsh.
The new Center will have capacity to concurrently house up to 37 dogs and 31 cats, compared to eight dogs and 22 cats at the current shelter. An interior “Get-to-Know” room and an outdoor “Get-to-Know” courtyard will enable prospective pet owners to become acquainted with their future pets on-site, prior to completing the adoption process. The projected grand opening will be held in the Spring of 2009.
Generous donations have been accepted from: Blackson Bricks, NEC Corporation, Stone Solutions, and an anonymous donor of office furniture.
Inquiries about donating to the Animal Adoption Center can be made at 972-919-2539. Please visit the City of Farmers Branch website for more information.

Keep your dog safe during the New Year's celebrations. Always keep your pet's identification tags on, in case they are scared by fireworks and run away. Be sure that leftover drink glasses are emptied after your celebration - alcohol can be extremely dangerous to pets when ingested. Watch your pet to make sure they do not eat any party decorations like confetti, balloons, or streamers which can be harmful if swallowed. |
