Paws in the City

Paws in the City is a local non-profit, 501(c)3 organization that is dedicated to find loving, permanent homes for abandoned and neglected dogs and cats in Dallas. The goal of this group is to end overpopulation, abuse, and neglect of dogs and cats in the Metroplex, particularly in poorest areas of Dallas where pet abandonment and strays are most prevalent. Not only do they rescue, spay/neuter, and vaccinate these animals before working tirelessly to find them living homes, Paws in the City volunteers also carry food, water, and treats to pet owners who cannot afford food or veterinary care - 365 days a year.

Holiday Tip - New Year's Eve

Keep your dog safe during the New Year's celebrations. Always keep your pet's identification tags on, in case they are scared by fireworks and run away. Be sure that leftover drink glasses are emptied after your celebration - alcohol can be extremely dangerous to pets when ingested. Watch your pet to make sure they do not eat any party decorations like confetti, balloons, or streamers which can be harmful if swallowed.

Companions For Life's Pet Tribute Trees are Back!
This Holiday Season, honor your pet this holiday season with a photo decoration on a Companions For Life Pet Tribute Tree at selected neighborhood Starbucks through New Year's Day. Just send us a photo of your pet or a short written tribute along with a $5 donation and we’ll create and hang your decoration with a red ribbon for those pets who grace our lives now or a white ribbon for those who have passed on but are remembered with love.

Tributes can also be made in honor of a friend or relative or their pet and we’ll send a personal note to the honoree letting them know of your gift in their name.

All proceeds benefit Companions For Life’s humane education programs. "Teaching children respect, responsibility and kindness toward animals helps them become adults who practice caring and compassion...
