Driving tips

Spring will be here soon, and doggies everywhere will be heading to dog parks, restaurant patios, and walking trails. When driving with your pet, don't let your dog ride with his head outside the window. This makes him vulnerable to inner ear damage and lung infections, or he could be injured by flying objects. Keep your dog in his crate or in a harness attached to a seat buckle.

If you've visited some of the Dallas dog landmarks - such as The Pooch Patio, The Lucky Dog Barkery, Unleashed Indoor Dog Park, or Every Dog's Day - you've probably seen Margaret Bryant's amazing work. An engineer-turned-photographer, Margaret describes her artistic style as 'simple': she captures the personality of the dogs and the relationship they have with their humans. Sounds easy, but judging by her client feedback, Margaret and Photo Assistant & Dog Wrangler Teri Walker are nothing short of miracle workers.

Brushing your dog's teeth

February is Pet Dental Health Month. If you don't regularly brush your dog's teeth, now is the perfect time to start! Begin by getting him used to the taste of canine toothpaste (do NOT use the human variety), then let him lick the toothpaste off of a doggie toothbrush to get him used to the texture. Next begin by only brushing a few teeth at a time, and don't forget to praise your dog and make it fun. It may take a few weeks to get him used to the sensation, but soon your dog will look forward to having his teeth brushed!
