Intermediate Puppy Class - Location: Pappy's Pet Lodge Here's your chance to work with your puppy to earn the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy distinction! AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy Program is the AKC program designed to get puppies and their owners off to a great start. All dogs need the necessary components of the program including Socialization, Training, Activity, and a Responsible owner. - We will continue training and prevention of the most common puppy behaviors, such as housebreaking, crate training, play bite and dominance, socialization with people and other dogs, and proper nutrition.
- We will learn exercises to prepare your puppy for success in all they do with you and for further advanced training.
- Gives puppies a firm foundation in behavior and socialization by continuing to work on healthy socialization with other dogs and people, and will expand their horizons by adding different sizes and ages of dogs and more environmental changes.
- There will be a test during the final class - all those that pass will earn AKC's S.T.A.R. Puppy Award!
This is a 6 week class Class dates - March 11 - April 15, 2012 Class times - 1pm - 1:50pm Traci Murdock, CPDT-KA, is a Master Trainer, Canine Behavior Specialist, Certified Professional Dog Trainer, and Talent Scout and Wrangler. She has been training for over 10 years and her expertise includes pet dog issues, nutrition, behavior issues, dog sports and activities, and rescue and adoption – she has experience in just about any dog-related subject and volunteers as a behavior consultant for rescues and shelters. Traci created the Hollywood Dog™ class and teaches owners the skills necessary to break into show business and Reactive Dog™ classes to help people learn to manage their dogs’ out of control behaviors and teach the dog the skills needed to have more normal interactions with the world around them. Dogs can get sunburned too, so be sure to apply sunscreen when your dog will be out in the sun for extended periods of time. Apply sunscreen to the tips of his ears, bridge of his nose, groin area, inside of the legs and the underbelly. Be sure to use a sunscreen that does NOT contain PABA or Zinc Ozide (which is harmful to dogs if ingested) or a brand made specifically for dogs. |
