How well does your dog's nose work? To find out, come join us in this introduction to scent work and let your dog do what he does naturally - use his nose, in a safe indoor environment. This class will focus on finding food in and around objects, with an additional scent introduced at the end of the course. No prior training is needed to participate. We request that all dogs be crated when it is not their turn to work. Crates will be available on a first come, first served basis, so you may want to bring one as a backup. Please have your dog work on a different collar than they normally use for obedience, or loose leash walking. If your dog has never worn a harness, this might be a good time to try one. We don't want to discourage the dog from pulling (while he is searching) in any way. Please bring lots of small pieces of a high value food reward, and your dog's favorite toy. This class is limited to 6 working teams. If the class fills, please ask to be put on the waiting list, and we will schedule an additional class. If you have ANY questions regarding this class, please contact Mickey at

Dogs can get sunburned too, so be sure to apply sunscreen when your dog will be out in the sun for extended periods of time. Apply sunscreen to the tips of his ears, bridge of his nose, groin area, inside of the legs and the underbelly. Be sure to use a sunscreen that does NOT contain PABA or Zinc Ozide (which is harmful to dogs if ingested) or a brand made specifically for dogs. |
