Raise the Woof Pup Rally!
On Saturday, March 26 the White Rock Lake Dog Park will offer a howl of a good time Pup Rally in celebration of both the dog park’s 10 Year Anniversary and White Rock Lake Park’s Centennial Anniversary. Festivities will kick off at 10:00 AM with the first howl of the day. The four-footed attendees will gather together to throw their noses in the air and howl, howl, howl! Two-footed friends can join in as well to help Raise the Woof!
Additional howls will occur on the hour at 11:00, 12:00, 1:00 and ending with the last howl at 2:00 PM. The band Grand Theft Audio will perform their covers of ‘90s classics beginning at 11:30 AM. There will be contests, an agility course and many fabulous photo opportunities. Dog rescue organizations will be on hand – rather, on paw – for information and adoptions. Pet related vendors will have lots of goodies for purchase and Friends of White Rock Lake Dog Park will be selling T-shirts and other park related items.
Shuttle Bus: Due to limited parking at the dog park, there will be a shuttle bus picking up participants AND their pups! The shuttle will start picking people/pups up at 9:00 AM in front of Dallas Bike Works and drop them off on Mockingbird at the dog park. The shuttle will run a short loop all day with the last pickup of the day at the dog park around 4:00 PM.
Map: http://dallasbikeworks.com/map.php Please check out their web for a map of how to get in/out around the construction from Northwest Highway. Once there, there is plenty of parking in front and behind the bike shop. Do not park in front of the closed liquor store. Heading East on Mockingbird: Exit at White Rock Lake Park / West Lawther. Turn left on Lawther under Mockingbird, go past C.C. Young and then turn left into the parking lot of Dallas Bike Works. Heading West on Northwest Highway: Due to the construction at Lawther, go to the light at Trammel and turn back around heading east now. Just before you get to Lawther, turn into the parking lot where you see the Centennial Liquor Store and follow around to either the front or the back of the bike shop.
To add to the fun of the day, Dallas Bike Works is planning a cookout for our participants! Be sure to step inside and check out their nice inventory of bikes. Donations: This event is fun AND fund raiser for the White Rock Lake Dog Park! Please be sure to bring money to purchase the new Raise the Woof Pup Rally 2011 T-shirt and other goodies! We ask that you make a $5 admission donation to help with expenses and contribute to the park. Come join us for a howl!
In the case of rain, the event will be moved to the next Saturday, April 2.For additional information, please contact Andie Comini (214) 328-0508
