City of Lewisville Western Day Festival Print

Tickets will be $20 at the gate. For Lewisville residents, entrance into the festival is free with proof of residency.

Free shuttle parking at First Baptist Church of Lewisville, 1251 Valley Ridge Blvd., corner of Old Orchard and Valley Ridge Blvd., from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.

The ever popular Western Day festival will be held on Saturday, September 27 in Old Town Lewisville. Bring your family to this western-based event, designed to showcase Lewisville's rich history. Everyone will enjoy live music, arts and crafts vendors, gunfight re-enactments, trick ropers, petting zoo, car show, and the 2008 World Tamale Eating Championship. This all day event will keep you, your family, friends and visitors entertained while enjoying the reminiscing of the Old West.

* 10 AM - DOGA Doggie Yoga by Blue Anjou Yoga Studio
* 10:30 - AM Gifted Animal Program service dog demonstration
* 11 AM - Doggie Contests - Waggiest Tail, Best Dressed, Most Kissable
* Noon - Gifted Animal Program service dog demonstration
* 12:30 PM - Doggie Contests - Waggiest Tail, Best Trick, Best Bark
* 2 PM - Gifted Animal Program service dog demonstration
2:30 PM - Doggie Contests - Waggiest Tail, Owner Look Alike, Most Kissable
* 4 PM - DOGA Doggie Yoga by Blue Anjou Yoga Studio
* 5 PM - Tailwaggers Parade

Dogs can get sunburned too, so be sure to apply sunscreen when your dog will be out in the sun for extended periods of time. Apply sunscreen to the tips of his ears, bridge of his nose, groin area, inside of the legs and the underbelly. Be sure to use a sunscreen that does NOT contain PABA or Zinc Ozide (which is harmful to dogs if ingested) or a brand made specifically for dogs.
